Sponsor
The Greater Washington County Food Bank relies heavily on the compassion and generosity of many groups,
organizations and individuals through event, monetary and food sponsorships. Fundraisers are the life support of
the Food Bank and sponsors that assist with the expenses when they establish a fundraiser alleviates that expense
from the Food Bank.
Cash donations from groups and individuals support the day-to-day operations of the Food Bank and the purchase
of food products for distribution to the 36 different pantries. Donations of non-perishable foods and other supplies are
also very important to the Food Bank. Food donations can be dropped off at the Food Bank Warehouse between the
hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Other arrangements can be made to meet the needs of the donor,
as necessary.
The Greater Washington County Food Bank is currently accepting the following donations:
- Non-perishable food items – peanut butter, tuna fish, canned fruit and vegetables, pasta, canned meat, rice, cereal, etc.
- Gifts of money
- Hygienic supplies – health and beauty, personal hygiene, etc.
- Office supplies
Donations may be made to The Greater Washington County Food Bank, located at 1020 Route 519 in Eighty Four, Pa.,
across from 84 Lumber. Donations made to 501©3, or non-profit, agencies, are tax deductible and benefit the entire community.
Volunteer
Volunteers are a beneficial asset to the daily operations of The Greater Washington County Food Bank. Volunteers, age 16
and older, provide a very important contribution at special events, food drives, the various pantries and in the administrative office.
On average, more than 31,000 hours of service are put in by scouts seeking badges, high school students fulfilling graduation
requirements, and adults seeking civic involvement. Without the help of these volunteers, whether they are an individual or group,
the Food Bank would not be as productive as it is on a daily and continuing basis.
If you are interested in being a volunteer, please contact the Food Bank at 724-229-8175.
