Make an Impact on the Community

The Greater Washington County Food Bank continues to impact nearly 5,000 individuals across Washington County. There are numerous ways to get involved with GWCFB, with unlimited volunteer and donation opportunities.

Volunteering at the Food Bank: Both the Food Bank's warehouse and pantries are in consistent need of volunteers. This includes activities such as box packing, box distribution, sorting through donated items, and other similar tasks.

Volunteering at Healthy Habits: The educational facility at Healthy Habits Training Center currently host a number of events, utilizing the conference space as well as the instructional kitchen. Volunteering at HHTC can come in many forms, but mostly focused on those willing to teach a class lead a seminar, or share any skill set with those willing to learn. Current examples of classes are available under the HHTC tab.

Volunteering at Country Thrift Market: The Country Thrift Market's mission is to support the community by providing affordable goods and training while also supporting the Greater Washington County Food Bank fight against food insecurities. Volunteers assist with organizing displays, stocking shelves, assisting customers, and back-end organization of the Thrift Market.

Volunteering at The Farm: The Farm has volunteer needs in all of its programs, including the orchard, hydroponics, raised beds, and produce fields. We can work with your schedule and experience level to find the best fit for you.

Donation of Food and Products: You can donate food individually or hold a food drive (we can help you to coordinate one).  Food donations can be dropped off at the Food Bank Warehouse between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Enter at the exterior Atrium and you will be greeted by a pantry liaison.

Financial Donation: Every $1 that goes into Greater Washington County Food Bank turns into $5 worth of food and product. Additional operating costs such as logistics to each of the 40+ pantries and facility upgrades are costs of doing business, and financial support directed towards these operating costs ensure full dedication towards our mission of ensuring no one goes to bed hungry.
