Volunteer Opportunities

Greater Washington County Food Bank offers fun, meaningful team building experiences for large & small groups.


Please complete the digital Volunteer Application prior to your first day of volunteering. This form needs to be completed only once and is not needed for subsequent volunteering days.


Sign up for any of the scheduled volunteer opportunities at the different departments below. Once you have completed your digital volunteer application (above), you can move forward with scheduling your day(s) and time(s) to volunteer. Packing Boxes - Helping GWCFB pack the boxes we give out across the county each month, plus supporting tasks such as sorting health and beauty items, sorting locally donated goods, and more.

Warehouse Support - Helping with cleaning, food reporting, and other tasks.

Pantry Support - Helping distribute boxes and data entry to support new clients we serve.

Various volunteer opportunities to be outside or utilizing your green thumb: 

  • Orchard Mowing and Weed-whacking (weekly)

  • Hydroponic Collection & Nutrient Change (Thurs.)

  • Varying special projects

Special projects are updated weekly and announced on Facebook Live every Friday.

Virtual Education Host - To ensure education continues to occur during COVID-19, we are in need of guest hosts for Training Center Tuesdays, a virtual education series hosted by HHTC every Tuesday at 9AM. When in-person classes resume, we are looking for individuals to host cooking classes and educational seminars on a variety of topics. Please message us on Facebook for details.

Sorting Donated Items - Volunteers are needed on Tues./Wed. to help with the weekly list of donated items.

Stocking Shelves on Weekends- Volunteers are always needed to hang and organize clothing and linens, organize and shelve new merchandise form local retailers and to perform various light cleaning duties.
