Greater Washington County Food Bank offers fun, meaningful team building experiences for large & small groups.
Senior Box Packing - We prefer to have groups of 12-20 people, approximately 3 -5 hours anytime between 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Participants should wear close toed shoes and be able to stand for long periods of time. Participants will pack boxes approximately 700 boxes with items provided by the USDA for food insecure seniors in Washington County. This is one of our biggest packing projects.
Campus & Church Box Packing - We prefer to have groups of 7-20 people, approximately 3 -5 hours anytime between 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Participants should wear close toed shoes and be able to stand for long periods of time. Participants will pack boxes with specific items to provide nutritious breakfast, lunch, and dinner options for children, college students and families.
Sort, Pack and Stack - Ready to roll up your sleeves? Most food bank volunteers help sort donated food products, separate items into food categories, check expiration dates, discard damaged product and check for recalled items. For group participation it may be helpful to have 1-2 individuals who are comfortable lifting 40-50 lb. boxes.
Thrift Store - Country Thrift Market is a department of Greater Washington County Food Bank. Volunteers are always needed to hang and organize clothing and linens, organize and shelve new merchandise form local retailers and to perform various light cleaning duties.
The Farm - The Farm is the newest project at Greater Washington County Food Bank. As we develop our raised bed gardens, fruit tree orchard and hydroponic systems we will need many volunteers to help out.
